My Birthday!!

This week I discovered one positive about surgery being cancelled. It means that I can have a proper birthday. If surgery did occur I’d be two weeks post op which I’ve been told is one of the hardest times in recovery so I’d expect I wouldn’t quite be up to a big party. Because I wasn’t expecting to be ok for my birthday I didn’t plan anything however, I managed to sneak in a few catch ups.

First on Sunday I had a few families over just for a barbecue and a catch up with a delicious cheeseboard. It was really nice to be able to celebrate it with some of my closest friends. One of my friends who is an amazing cake maker made to most beautiful cake. I was so surprised it was incredible and absolutely delicious. That was my one thing I had to have for my birthday- a cake, and I think I got a pretty great one.

After a great Sunday night, on the Monday, my actual birthday, my grandparents came over. I waited all day for my dad to come home from work before I got my presents but boy was it worth the wait. My parents got me a digital piano!! I’ve always wanted to learn to play and now I have the chance. I also got a few bits of Home and Away merchandise from my parents and grandparents (haha, number one fan.) It was a great night just going out to our local night for a lovely birthday dinner. When I came home I Skyped my grandparents overseas, it was nice to see them for my birthday. It was a lovely way to finish the night.

To finish all celebrations I went out with one of my friends from school to go see Pricilla Queen of the Dessert. It was a great show and since musical theatre is one one of my main passions of course I loved the show. We had a great night and it was an awesome, very last minute birthday party.

I felt so lucky to be able to celebrate my birthday with everyone closest to me. It finally made me feel quite happy that surgery was cancelled. It gave me the chance to have a great time with all my friends and family. Now all the celebrations are over I think I’m finally ready to have the surgery. Not long now!

It was Gemma’s birthday this week too. We are going down West Wales to celebrate this weekend.
Apparently people born in April are the best (according to Gemma anyway) !! Xx
