First Week of School
This week I went back to school for the first time since surgery. The night before I was very nervous and could hardly sleep. I was panicking about what would happen on that first day and how far behind I’d be and if I’d be alright to go back to doing more work.
When I arrived at school on Monday morning I realised there was no need to worry and school was fine. I saw my friends in the morning and it was great to see them all again for I hadn’t seen many of them while I was off.
Being back at school it felt like I had never left. I didn’t feel like I was far behind at all. Obviously there are a few pieces of work I have to catch up on but not as much as I expected which is quite calming.
I am only back part-time this week then full-time next week. So far my back has felt alright just a little sore towards the end of the period. I have also gone down on pain killers this week so it’s only normal to feel that my back hurts a little more. It has started feeling a lot better now though.
I’m actually slightly looking forward to getting back into a routine and being more productive each day instead of just laying around and watching TV all day. It feels good to be back and it’s just another big step in my recovery.
